What
is Reflexology?
Reflexology
is a focused pressure technique, usually directed at
the feet or hands. It is based on the premise that
there are zones and reflexes on different parts of
the body, which correspond to, and are relative to
all parts, glands, and organs of the entire body.
When
the reflexes are stimulated, the body's natural electrical
energy works along the nervous system to clear any
blockages in the corresponding zones. A reflexology
session seems to break up deposits (felt as a sandy
or gritty area under the skin) which may interfere
with this natural flow of the body's energy.
Reflexology
demonstrates four main benefits:
1.
Relaxation with the removal of stress.
2. Enhanced circulation.
3. Assists the body to normalize metabolism naturally.
4. Complements all other healing modalities.

General
Info on Feet and Orthotics
Feet are the foundation to your body; similar to that of
a skyscraper they support the weight of everything above
them. Small problems in your feet can cause a change
in the way you walk and therefore cause a chain reaction
of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics.
This leads to increase stress on the joints higher up
in your body and to sometimes more serious problems.
Custom
made orthotics are specifically made to tailor your needs
and active lifestyle. They will help to restore
a normal foundation in your feet and re-align your body’s
joints and therefore alleviate and in most cases eliminate
pain.
I am pleased to offer Custom Prescription Orthotics to
our patients at the Acu-Pain Clinic. Similar to what corrective
eye glasses do, orthotics are biomechanical medical insoles
that are custom made to correct the imbalances of your
feet. Imbalances such as SUPINATED and PRONATED feet are
the most commonly seen problems. Most extended health care
insurance plans fully cover the cost of custom orthotics.
Refer to your insurance plan for more details.
Also
included are:
- localized foot pain
- bunions or hammer toes
- arch and heel pain
- leg and knee pain
- hip,
back and even neck pain
